International Baccalaureate (IB) Tuition

The International Baccalaureate is recognised worldwide for its academic rigour, breadth and emphasis on independent thinking. We support IB students at every stage of the programme — from the Primary Years Programme (PYP), through the Middle Years Programme (MYP), to the Diploma Programme (DP) — working with families in London, across the UK and internationally.

Diploma Programme (IB1 & IB2)

The Diploma Programme is demanding and fast-paced. By Years 12 and 13 (IB1 and IB2), students are balancing six subjects at Higher Level (HL) and Standard Level (SL), alongside Internal Assessments, the Extended Essay (EE), Theory of Knowledge (TOK), CAS commitments and university applications.

Our specialist IB tutors provide targeted, high-level support across all subjects, helping students master HL and SL content, refine essay writing and problem-solving skills, and approach exams with clarity and confidence. Just as importantly, we help students manage workload and pressure so they can perform at their best without losing the balance that sits at the heart of the IB.

Middle Years Programme (MYP)

For MYP pupils, we focus on building secure subject foundations while supporting students with Personal Projects and preparation for on-screen eAssessments. Our tutors help students develop organisation, analytical skills and independence, ensuring a smooth and confident transition into the Diploma Programme.

Primary Years Programme (PYP)

At PYP level, our approach is gentle, structured and curiosity-led. Tutors nurture strong literacy, numeracy and inquiry skills, laying the groundwork for long-term academic confidence and success within the IB framework.

Frequently Asked Questions - IB

How is the IB graded?
Each of the six Diploma subjects is marked 1-7 (maximum 42). Up to three extra points come from TOK and the Extended Essay. A pass requires 24; the most competitive universities expect 40 +.

What are practical tips for reaching 40 + points?
Secure core topics in IB1, finish Internal Assessments early and adopt active revision—past papers, examiner reports and spaced practice-throughout IB2. A well-planned Extended Essay and thoughtful TOK work often add the two or three extra core points that push totals into the 40s.

When should tuition begin?
Ideally the summer before IB starts, to bridge skills and plan reading. Weekly tutorials in IB1 lock in HL topics; IB2 then focuses on past papers, IA polishing, EE drafting and university interviews. Later starts can still succeed with intensive booster blocks and holiday sessions.

Can everything be done online?
Yes. Interactive whiteboards, shared essay-editing and past-paper databases make online IB lessons highly effective. Many of our students join from Europe, Asia, the Middle East and North America.

Are retakes possible?
Diploma subjects can be retaken every May and November. We run short, intensive revision courses that target syllabus gaps, mark-scheme language and timing, and can recommend authorised IB World Schools for private‐candidate entry.
